There is only one way to swiftly put an end the bloodshed and that is to spread the word that boycotting restaurants and (if you eat seafood) by only purchasing seafood that does not come from Canada.
The reason the international boycott will work is because it is not the Inuit that kill hundreds of thousands of seal pups each year, but Canada’s fisherman. The Canadian government supports it as long as their fishing industry wants it to continue. It’s been going on for decades. The “hunt” is not only a threat to the eco-system, but to the cod population as well as the seals.
An international team of veterinarians who have studied the slaughter, show that the killings are inhuman and the pups, which are just a few weeks old suffer greatly of cranial trauma and are also being skinned while still alive. This is supported by hours of graphic footage over the years. Violations of hunt regulations are routine, without penalty.
The United States purchases most of the seafood exported from Canada, therefore MOST stores and restaurants carry some.
